My research leads me to believe that this is a painting by artist Gloria Petyarre titled "Bush Medicine Leaves". Unfortunately there is no artist signature or mark, or at least nothing that I can see. It is made from canvas and is in very good condition besides some paint missing from the bottom LH side of the frame, this can be seen in the photo.
1470mm x 915mm
Hello, this item is a contemporary Aboriginal Australian-style acrylic painting on canvas, depicting a dense field of pink and purple leaf-like strokes radiating from a central point, a composition associated with the “Bush Medicine Leaves” visual tradition of Central Desert women artists. The work is presented in a black frame and measures approximately 1470 mm x 915 mm, giving it strong decorative scale and visual impact. The submitted attribution to Gloria Petyarre cannot be confirmed from the photographs, because no artist signature, studio inscription, gallery label, certificate of authenticity, or Aboriginal art centre documentation is visible. The composition follows the type of work for which Gloria Petyarre became internationally known, but without provenance it should be valued as an unsigned Aboriginal-style decorative painting rather than an authenticated work by the artist.
The painting appears generally presentable from the front, with bright color, consistent patterning, and no major canvas tears visible, though there is some loss or wear to the lower left area of the frame. The reverse shows a simple stretcher and backing, with no visible identifying documentation, which significantly limits collectibility in the specialist Aboriginal art market. Authenticated Gloria Petyarre paintings can command much stronger prices, but attribution requires clear documentation from a recognized gallery, art centre, estate source, or certificate connected to the artist. Based on the images and the lack of confirmable authorship, Fair Market Value: $300 - $800 USD.
