The lamp is made by ArtCo unsure age. It is in good condition. There’s 4 sockets 2 switches one lug. About 3 feet tall without stand and shade. I believe it’s made from plaster/cement material. It’s very heavy I guessing around 80 pounds. 3 cherubs total. Unsure if stand and shade are original
Hi Sami,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
There's little information publicly available online about the maker of this lamp: ArtCo., though a few late 20th Century companies had this name, including a company simply called ARTCO (Artco Inc.) based in San Jose, California. They've been serving the glassblowing and lampworking community since 1985, offering tools, blowpipes, kilns, torches, and related supplies— but not desk or home lighting lamps.
Other lamps of this size and vintage - probably mid 20th Century based on the photos - have sold at auction for between $400 and $600, though private sellers and retailers may ask higher RETAIL prices.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage Rococo cast and gilt plaster lamp
stamped ArtCo, probably mid 20th Century
The body composed of three cherub on a naturalistically rendered base, each holding a scrolling acanthus-decorated horn-form light support, the base impressed ArtCo.
