Hi Nick,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Because I can't see a production/bottling/vintage date on these bottles, I'm dating these to the 1930s and 40s because of the name of the distributor - Schenley Import Corp, which became Schenley Industries in 1949. While I've not been able to find other bottles of this exact Sherry at auction (the values Mearto provides are fair-market, for auction purposes), I've used sales of similarly aged Sherrys for a basis of comparison.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
Two bottles of vintage Gonzalez, Byass Ca Jerez Commodore Sherry
circa 1930s-40s, imported by Schenley Import Corp
bottles each hold 1pint 8 oz, 20% by alcohol
CONDITION: bottles appear to be unopened. Value assumes bottles are unopened, they retain full quantities and the liquid is clear and not cloudy.
PROVENANCE: inherited
$150-250 each or $300-500 for the pair*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you again for using Mearto.
