Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful necklace. Such lovely vintage jewellery are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The necklace has a lovely and very modern design with the circular neck ring and the way the grandidierites are set. However from the photos it is very difficult to see the clarity and colour of the stones which is of importance when giving an estimate. in order to obtain the high end prices the stones have to be very clear and with a great colour.
The setting in white gold makes the necklace appear exclusive and very elegant. It was probably made in the last part of the 20th Century judging from the design of the necklace.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the grandidierite necklace has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the beautiful necklace. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
