Porcelain doll with green dress. She has a chip in her leg and clothes have some stains. I'm interested though in help identifying her. Markings on back of the neck are difficult to make out. V00 maybe or U00
13 x 6 inches
Hi Cassi,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
THIS doll on the other hand, is more likely to be a WALDA example. The break in the leg (its of greater severity than a chip) significantly affects its value; had it been in good condition it would have had a value of $30-50.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage American bisque and cloth doll
Possibly Walda, mid/late 20th Century
With painted features, synthetic red hair in pigtails, wearing a blue and green plaid dress with white cotton sleeves, white cotton pantaloons, all with white lace detailing. Marked indistinctly to the back of the neck.
13 inches tall
CONDITION: Break to one leg; stains to clothing.
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$20-30*
