Bag was purchased in Italy in 1978. Bag was barely used, feels like canvas with leather trim and straps, inside appears to be suade

The appraised work appears to be a vintage Gucci crossbody handbag featuring the classic mini GG jacquard canvas with gold-toned hardware, single flat adjustable leather shoulder strap and tan leather trim, tonal suede interior lining and a single zip pocket at interior with what looks like a magnetic snap closure at the front flap. The exterior pattern is the Gucci Microguccissima, which is about 1/3 the size of the normal GG print and features a single square between the interlocking GGs as opposed to the traditional two square pattern. The Microguccissima with a single square is not as common and is typically seen on older handbags, which indicates that the appraised work is vintage, possibly from the late 1960s or 1970s. According to information provided by the client and based on photographs submitted, there is no evidence of a model or serial number, which is typically found on the interior leather flap near the zipped pocket. There are instances in which a serial number is not present, particularly with older bags purchased in Italy, however this is not the norm and should be noted. The estimate above is based on the assumption that the subject work is authentic.
The estimate provided is based comparables recently offered and sold at auction. Gucci handbags frequently appear at auction but overall tend to sell only moderately well—usually at or below their low presale estimate. Typically, only bags of the highest quality and condition as well as examples that boast important and/or illustrious provenance will achieve substantial realized auction prices. The subject handbag’s size, style, condition, as well as the overall auction market for vintage Gucci handbags was taken into consideration when establishing the estimate. In many cases, pricing for similar examples available on the primary (retail) market vary, and are often higher than secondary (auction) market examples.
Thanks very much. I will update the appraisal shortly.
