Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal and for the additional information. Machine - woven rugs are considerably less valuable of course, but the design can be very pleasing and these rugs are very sturdy and long lasting. There were a number of german manufacturers active in the 1970s producing a wide variety of carpets, those would usually bear a "Teppich-Siegel".
The estimate is based on similar machine-woven rugs offered or sold at auction.
It will be about a week before I can send additional pictures. The rug is machine made if that helps. We were told it was hand-made, but of course, who should believe a gypsy? Now we know who.
