Hamilton pocket watch crime to early 1900’s

Description
This pocket watch was left to me by my father who passed away in 2005. His father left this watch to him when he died in 1956 so I really don’t know when he acquired it or its value. It is a Hamilton pocket watch inscribed JWS for Jerome Wade Scroggs.

Hamilton - A Gentleman's Open Faced Silvery Metal Pocket Watch, 1920's
the silver satin dial with Arabic numerals with subsidiary second dial, the case back
inscribed JWS for Jerome Wade Scroggs, on a watch chain of curblinking.
I am assuming that it is base metal rather than silver.
