Hand-painted lamp with no obvious markings. Felt on the bottom, but not sure if I should peel it away to see if there is a manufacturer under it.
Not sure
This is a vintage, mid 20th century, decorator lamp with a ceramic base done in a bulbous bottom, with stylized octopus tentacle form handles and rising up in a Solomonic column form. The surface is glazed in a pink paper marbling effect interspersed with reticulated, or pierced carved floral decoration. Without a mark, stamp or label, where this was made cannot be definitively stated; this was possibly produced in Italy, or at least inspired by Capodimonte style wares made in the mid 20th century. Generally, these would be sold as a pair originally. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
I have the pair.
