Hi Seth,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The Doors' 1971 song “Riders on the Storm” is significant as a musical milestone because the track blends psychedelic rock, jazz, blues, and the use of recorded rain and thunder as well as Morrison's overdubbed lyrics to pioneer atmospheric production techniques; this would later influence ambient and trip-hop music. The song's understated Fender Rhodes keyboard line by Ray Manzarek and loose jazz rhythm were unusual for mainstream rock at the time. Unlike the band’s more explosive hits, the song relies on restraint and mood, showcasing The Doors’ musical maturity.
Recorded shortly before Morrison left for Paris (where he died in July 1971), the song carries an eerie sense of farewell. It is frequently ranked among the greatest rock songs of all time and has become synonymous with late-night radio, road imagery, and introspective Americana.
Original song lyrics can range widely in value, from three figures to six- and seven-figures, notably Paul McCartney's handwritten "Hey Jude" lyrics (which sold for $910,000 in 2020), "A Day in the Life" by John Lennon ($1.2 million in 2010), both of which are topped by the $2.04 million realized in 2014 for a handwritten draft of Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone".
In 2013, Heritage Auctions sold Morrison's handwritten lyrics for "Riders on the Storm" for $67,650 (https://entertainment.ha.com/itm/movie-tv-memorabilia/jim-morrison-of-the-doors-handwritten-lyrics-for-riders-on-the-storm-/a/997012-1068.s?utm_source=chatgpt.com); it was on a 9x14-inch sheet of lined yellow paper and had his initials at the top but no signatures.
If these lyrics were written by Jim Morrison or another member of the band, this would have a value of $50,000-70,000 but if the lyrics were as you note written by someone else but one that the band members signed, and the signatures were authenticated, this would have a value of $15,000-25,000

Could you please Re-appraise this item as these are not handwritten lyrics by the band (Jim Morrison etc) but likely by the studio crew as it states in the description.
Please re-appraise on the fact these signatures are likely authentic signatures of the 4 members of The Doors with handwritten lyrics of one of their songs “Riders on the Storm”.
Thanks again for your help!
