I think the flower/leaf inlay on the front is either silver or pewter (don't know how to tell the difference). It seems to be some type of compact with the hand carved inlay for the front.
Purchased for my mother by my father in Japan in the 70's.
This is a vintage, later 20th century, ladies compact with mirror and original powder puff and in original box from Japan. The backside is spun aluminum and the cover is a hand tooled silver tone metal, likely pewter, with a floral motif. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
