A vintage Aubusson style cream and navy wool rug
hand-loomed
With a deep black ground allover, centering a cream, gold and pink medallion within stylized flowers and a deep border of stylized wreathes with crowns at each end, alternating pink and cream rosette border, cream selvedges (fringe trim). Unmarked.

Anna,
Apologies for the delay in responding - I showed your appraisal to a colleague who is a rug specialist for another appraisal platform - she agreed that the wool was fine enough to give the illusion of silk but was in fact wool. The overall uniformity of the looming leans towards machine but some discrepancies make it possible to have been hand-loomed and therefore accurate to your original description.
Wool rugs are not quite as valuable on the market as silk rugs, so this now has a slightly lower value, now $700-1,000.

I'm completely shocked that you're saying this is machine made. This is a handmade wool carpet . It's not silk. This is a really incorrect appraisal.. why do you think this is silk? I'm shocked.! I even took a picture of the back where you can see that it's not machine made with a uneven edges and everything.
