What does this mean?

Dear Jennifer,

I am happy to help you again with this other appraisal inquiry.
However, before I do so, can you let me know if the dimensions you have kindly indicated include the frame?

Thank you,

Karine

Hi, Karine. The dimensions do include the frame. Thank you.

Thank you, Jennifer, for your swift reply. Please ignore my last estimate and replace it with the new figures above. Thank you.

This undated oil painting on canvas appears to be by the British artist called Charles Harmony Harrison (1842-1902). It depicts a horse in a British landscape. It is signed "Harrison" on the lower left edge. Framed: 15 1/2" x 17 1/2". It is housed in a beautifully carved frame, and it appears to be in excellent condition overall.

Charles Harmony Harrison was a self-taught artist from Great Yarmouth (UK). He is above all remembered for his watercolors, waterscapes, seascapes and Broadland views.

Overall, the results for his paintings appear fairly consistent, with works typically selling within their presale estimates.

Once again, the estimation highlighted in red above is based on comparables offered and sold at auction in the last five years. The subject work’s size, the composition, condition (based on photographs and comments provided), and the artists’ current auction market were taken into consideration when determining the estimate.

In many cases, pricing for similar items available on the primary (retail) market vary and are often higher than secondary (auction) market examples.

Best regards,

Karine
