Dear Kevin,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a study made in oil on canvas with the measurements of 11 x 10 inches. The oil study depicts a young boy in a typical Armenian costume. This artwork appears to be signed with the name "H. Pushman" which leads to the famous artist Hovsep PUSHMAN (1877-1966).
Works by this artist were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 2.000 to 4.000 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
Dear Kevin,
there is a wide variety in the traditional costumes of Armenia. The pose would fit more to a boy but also could underline the pride of the Armenian woman.
With kind regards,
Georg
Are you sure it's a young boy? The back reads Armenian Girl.
