Hi, I believe this is an electrified oil lamp made of jadeite. Maker's mark HS on the knob of the lamp. Stands 35 inches tall and the base is 9 inches. Has a metal (possibly brass?) floral pattern band on the top of the lamp and on the oil lamp portion. Base might also be brass. Says Leviton made in USA where the light bulbs screw in. Came with some random lamp shade this I'm sure isn't original.
Acquired from a second hand store in Oak Park, IL. History unknown.
Hi Alexandra,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
I am quite certain that this is opalescent glass in a jadeite color rather than being jadeite - there is too much translucency for this to be stone. .
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A Hugo Schneider (HASAG) brass and opalescent jadeite glass oil lamp (later converted)
made in Germany, early 20th Century, later converted to electric
35 inches high overall
PROVENANCE: acquired from a second hand store
$150-250*
