My grandmother was born in Germany, and my mother in Austria. They collected Hummels all of their lives. They have both passed and I have a lot of Hummels now.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of what may be disappointing news - Hummel porcelain figures, while expensive to collect new 'back in the day' - have not retained their fair-market value and are typically sold in large groups for a few hundred dollars, with prices for individual pieces rarely selling for more than $15-25. It's simply an issue of too much supply vs. not enough demand...
