Porcelain/Ceramic 4 1/2" wide 5" tall 1" deep. From my Granmothers collection. Marked on the back "93" "Goebel W Germany" "MJ Hummel" "1938" "Em 79"
Hi Amy,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
In addition to the popular child figurines that made the name famous, MI Hummel and the Wm Goebel factory also created a line of comparable household furnishings - including lamps, wall plaques, candlesticks, holiday ornaments and the like - that they hoped would appeal to collectors. While these were not quite as widely collected as the figurines, they do still have a market, although it's somewhat limited and comparable examples usually bring prices between $60-90 at auction
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage MI Hummel painted porcelain "Little Fiddler" figurine
Made by Goebel, West Germany, Model #33, bearing the underglaze "Last Bee Mark" or TMK-5 mark in use from 1972-1979.
Depicting a standing fiddler playing in a recessed landscape of buildings, marked on the back.
5 inches tall by 4-1/2 inches wide by 1 inch deep
CONDITION: appears to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: inherited
$70-80*
