Dear Jale,
Thank you for contacting Mearto in regards to your appraisal. Your Gobel Hummel figurines appear to be in good condition and made out of porcelain from a mold. The boy and girl on the fence, "Wayside Harmony" and "Just Resting" and marked on the underside with the mark used by Gobel between 1950 and 1955. The other figurine, "Hello, I'm here" is marked with the mark used by the company between 1979 and 1990. Hummel figurines are based on the drawing of Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel (1909-1946). She was a German Franscian Nun who was studying art at the Academy of Applied Arts in Münich before becoming a nun in 1931. She taught at a school run by the convent and would spend her spare time drawing the children. Her drawings were first published as postcards and in 1934 they were compiled into a book, "Das Hummel-Buch", where her illustrations were accompanied by poems by Margarete Seemann. These works brought her to the attention of Franz Gobel, who obtained the exclusive rights to produce porcelain figurines based on her work. Their popularity grew in the United States when returning soldiers bought the home. The figurines were discontinued by Gobel in 2008. Based on price realizations of recent sales, a fair market value for your figurine would be between 10-20 for "Hello, I'm here" and 30-50 for "Wayside Harmony" and "Just Resting".
Best Regards,
Morgan
