Solid wood (likely mahogany) with brass grommets and ecru patent leather
Roughly 2.5 ft across, 3.5 ft tall
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The secondary (auction) market for this Hollywood Regency style furniture is quite soft at the moment and it's likely you paid more to have it upholstered 20 years ago than what it is worth now but I didn't want to give you an inflated sense of its auction value, though you might find a buyer for it with a higher retail asking price.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A French provincial style carved mahogany leather upholstered wing armchair
In the French style, unattributed maker, circa 1930s
The serpentine curved back with channel upholstering with brass tack trim over raised arms over part-upholstered arms, raised on short carved cabriole legs. Presumably not labeled.
Approximately 42 inches tall, 30 inches wide
CONDITION: This chair appears to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: Unknown
$ 150-250*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto.
