Slag glass, often found in a swirled, brownish-amber color, is characterized by its uneven, marble-like appearance. It's a type of glass with iron additives. It was often used in lampshades and other glassware from the early 1900s. Because I am making an assessment from images, my first impression is that this is a section of extruded glass or plastic from an industrial process or a section of building material waste. Magnifying the images I do see the appearance of bubbles in the form and the cuts along the object make be believe this was an industrially formed material and not created in a organic environment.
Slag glass is a desired ornamental building and garden material; and is sold at prices in a retail environment that matches this FMV. It has been used as such for many years; especially along coastal and lake regions, due to its manufacturing proximity.

Hi, Adell,
I am sorry for my delay in responding to your submission. Before I can give a full assessment I will need some more information from you. Please:
What is an estimated weight of the example?
Did you discover the stone separate from a matrix?
Have you polished or cleaned the stone with any chemicals?
Does the example remain cool to the touch? Even after 30 seconds of holding in in your hand?

Your input will be helpful in determining what next steps to take in selling your example.
The weight of the stone is about 7 pounds. The stone was found
sticking partially out ground in a empty lot. The dirt on the stone was washed off with water years ago. No chemicals were used and it stays cool to touch.
