LOUIS ICART- SIGNED BOTTOM RIGHT HAND CORNER, LOOKS LIKE GRAPHITE OR PENCIL, NO OTHER MARKINGS- IM ASSUMING THIS IS JUST A COMMERCIALLY PRODUCED PRINT, NO PRINT NUMBER 23.5" x 11" PAPER
BOUGHT FROM AN ART/FRAME SHOP IN THE 70'S
Dear Jerry,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload a few better images of the signature to decide if this is made by hand or printed in the plate.
With kind regards,
Georg
Dear Jerry,
Thank you for the additional images and your patience. The presented object is a print on paper with the measurements of 23.5" x 11". It depicts a nude standing lady and is titled "Illusion". This print is made after the draft of the artist Louis ICART (1888-1950). The signature appears to be not signed by hand and printed in the plate. This is sadly a reprint which is quite often to find on the market.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 20 to 40 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
Georg-
Thank-you for the appraisal - My assumptions were correct- While not vault worthy- still is a great print worthy to keep hanging in my bedroom!
