Elderly friend gave them to me.
This is a vintage 3rd quarter 20th century glass pedestal decanter pitcher and stemware set that was produced in Italy. This was likely made on the island of Murano off Venice, Italy which has been a glass making center for a number of centuries. It is good that the sticker label is still affixed with the country of origin, and it would be best to not remove the label. The set would have been hand blown and it is done in red and clear glass with applied gilded decoration including the cameo of a Roman or Trojan soldier. Although the gold is real, there is no longer a precious metal meltdown value as the cost to extract the gold would exceed the value of the amount extracted. The estimate is based on actual recent past auction sales.
