35.5 in wide 30 in tall and 2 in deep. Painting has one small white mark near lady as pictured and frame which I believe is plaster has cracks/chips as shown. Tag on the back did have an 1800's date and the artists last name appears to be Brown.
I got this item from a storage auction
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a continental european oil on canas painting of the 1920s, depicting two young woman in a garden while collecting flowers. Judging from the dress and the Sabot footwear most likely a rural area in France might be depicted. The composition and motif is well chosen, but the execution is rather on a level of a well trained amateur artist. The varnish has turned yellow in places, this might be difficult to remove. The estimate is based on similar paintings by lesser known artists sold at auction.
How would I put this piece into an auction and which would be best?
