Mujur rugs are a type of prayer rug that are meticulously handwoven in Mucur (also known as Mujur or Mudjar), a quaint village located near Kırşehir in central Turkey. Similar to the intricate designs found on Makri rugs, the patterns adorning Mujur prayer rugs draw comparisons to the captivating motifs found on medieval stained-glass windows within European churches.

The distinct design prevalent in older examples dating back to the 19th century prominently features a prayer niche, showcasing a stepped arch crowned gracefully with a small turret-like structure. This architectural motif resonates elegantly with the crenellated details of a slender cross panel positioned above. The prayer niche itself is often rendered in shades of soft red, pale yellow, or soothing green.
