these have marble tops, interior is lined in bottom section for storage of something. it is 21 wide x 27 high to table top x 18 deep x floor to tip of back of trim at 37 inches

Small cabinets were sometimes lined to hold chamber pots; however, I don't believe that is the original purpose, though they do retain a lined compartment. The marble top is more conducive to these being lamp stands (the marble would have protected the top of the table from dripping wax) and the cabinet could have held candles, etc.
Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A pair of Italian Rococo revival style serpentine marble-top burled walnut bedside cabinets or lamp stands
late 19th Century
each 37 inches high, 21 inches wide by 18 inches deep

I think it's burled walnut, and I've added that to the appraisal, apologies for the omission.
do you have any idea if that is burlwood or what type of wood?
