What does this mean?

This is an antique, 19th century, Victorian era pickle castor that was sold through James Tufts of Boston. The Castor base is done in quadruple plated metal with a pair of cast figures of girls in bonnets in the manner of illustrations by Kate Greenaway. The glass receptacle is done in blown cranberry glass with hand painted enamel floral decoration on the surface. A match to this sold for $665 in March 2016. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
