2 feet tall. Top width 8". Bottom approximately 6". Hand painted. Gold trim. Gold handles on both sides. Single makers mark on bottom.
I know nothing. I have 2 of the same but one is slightly damaged in the lip and is easily hidden with flowers or whatever you wish to decorate it with.
Dear Darlene,
You vase is indeed made in Japan but is not very old, its not an antique. Having said that; its a very decorative vase and I believe if if came to auction it would fetch around the estimate. Vase is party printed and hand painted / colored afterwards. That way the production can be much higher then if it was all hand painted. These vase are made for export to the west and are popular throughout the decades. The type of vase is Satsuma porcelain. I'm not sure if modern production is still made in Satsuma era in Japan. I know that these vases are look-a-likes are also made in China.
Thank you very much! Hope you're doing well and staying safe from this covid19 outbreak. Bless yall!
