These china pieces are decorated with a bamboo pattern and each also has two flying cranes. There is gold paint on rims and around leaves and stems etc. all are in good shape, with handles in tact and no chips but sugar bowl and tea pot are missing lids. Stamped in the bottom in pink color “made in occupied Japan”
Found at a goodwill.
This is a vintage, mid 20th century, porcelain tea set with bamboo motif, flying birds and and gilded highlights. The set is from Japan and the pieces are stamped 'Made in Occupied Japan'. The mark dates the set to having been made between 1945 - 1953 when the Allied Forces occupied Japan after World War II. There are quite a number of these sets available on the market which is currently slumped. The missing lid for the sugar and tea pot also does impact the value. The estimate is for the set and is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
