Looks to be ink and wash on I believe silk? I enclosed photos with the height and width on them.... also it does have some damage... again see attached photos.
I purchased this beautiful screen this past summer in a tiny town in Northeastern Minnesota at an antique store... no idea of age.. I do know it’s Japanese... at least that is what I was told... would love some insight! Thank you so much for your time. Kind regards Tonya
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a mid 20th century japanese folding screen. The inscription on the right is in parts hard to decipher, possibly referring to a mountaineous region in early summer. The written signature to the left might be an artist´s name, possibly " tired walk" (??) The artist seals are in parts so faint, that if wasn´t possible for me to identify the artist. The scratches within the paper are quite serious and can´t be restored. It is a well done ink wash drawing with faint traces of a preparatory pencil sketch visible. The estimate is based on similar folding screens by lesser known artist offered or sold at auction.
