Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a two part screen by Hasegawa Gyokujun (1863 –1921) 玉純, signed lower right and also with his artist seal. The two part painting shows a coastal landscape with a temple, partly covered by fog or mist. The artist was born in Kyoto in a very artistic family. He was the eldest son of the Shijô-style painter Hasegawa Gyokuho (1822-1879). He lived in Kyoto and also on the shores of lake Biwa, the largest freshwater lake in Japan. The artist exhibited in Japan and abroad. The folding screen appears to be a good example of his work, though there might be a few condition issues.
The estimate is based on a few auction results. Asking prices in the trade can be much higher and can vary.
