Japanese sword, with surrender agreement hand written on cloth attached. All pieces and parts of sword are in tact and present to include the bamboo locking pin.

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. Judging from the photos provided it appears to be an early Shōwa period sword, signed Yoshiharu.於都源義治作源義治作. Very little is known about this swordsmith workshop in Tokyo. The attached document and the provenance will add to the value. The estimate is based on similar items of comparable age offered or sold at auction. As always "asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary.
