My dad picked it up in Japan on one of his return trips from Vietnam in the mid to late 1960's

This is actually Korean and not Japanese. The writing is in Korean Hangul and the costumes are distinctly traditional Korean. The montage are figures done in 3-dimensional relief in silk and hand painting. They highlight various labor and personal relationship roles in Korean culture. It would have been new when purchased. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
