Dear Mirta Big,
Thank you for your appraisal submission. The work is a contemporary mixed media painting on canvas by Bernard Korzeniak (Uruguyan, born 1971). The work depicts a palm-like symbol with eyes, newsprint cutouts, a scroll, and script-like motifs. A similar work by the artist is featured on his website with the title "Maja III." The work is signed and dated to 2009 to the lower right corner. An artist biography is included to the verso. From the images provided, the work appears to be in good condition with no visual issues to note. It measures 24 x 20 inches.
Bernard Korzeniak is a contemporary artist making art rooted in Jewish themes. His works have been extensively exhibited across the US, Europe, and Uruguay. Despite his well-documented exhibition history, Korzeniak does not have a secondary market record. Most of his works are sold directly through the artist website. The sales prices of his paintings are not public, and commercial prices are always much higher than on the secondary market. To estimate the Fair Market Value of this work we consider sales prices of contemporary Jewish artists. Looking at these sales trends, we estimate the FMV of this work between $200 and $500.
Thank you again for your submission.
Kind regards,
Charlotte B.
