Description: JOHN MILLER (1931-2002)
Signed on the lower right.
Oil on canvas.
Framed 26” x 26”
This appears to be one of John Miller’s distinctive images of a glowing beach and deep blue sky, which are so widely recognised today as to have become synonymous with the county of Cornwall itself. His purity of composition and colour have had a significant influence on the form and feel of contemporary Cornish art, reflected in the current trend for square canvases, low set horizons, and luminous pigments.
John Miller (1931-2002) is an iconic painter of the Cornish landscape. During his forty-year career, John’s idyllic beach scenes of Cornwall’s Penwith peninsula and the Isles of Scilly established him as one of the county’s most popular painters.
The value of his work had increased over time and a similar painting by him was sold a few months ago in America for $7,200.
Dear Lynne,
When a customer submits an item to Mearto online, customers are asked if they want to sell.
In your case, I can see that when you have submitted your item online you have selected the option “maybe” which means that you should be contacted if an auction house is interested.
If you want me to flag this up again let me know and I will include it in your request.
In reply to your last message, we do not charge the customer a commission for this service. If the item is successfully consigned and sold we will collect a modest commission from the auction house.
I hope this helps,
Karine
Hi Karine
Thank you for your reply.
I have changed my listing to yes for selling but can't see how to change it to public. Can you do this on my behalf or do I need to log in and change this myself?
Sorry for any confusion.
Lynne
I will flag this up now. No worries
Best wishes
Karine
Hi Karine
I notice that my listing still states private.
Can you amend to public please.
I seem to be unable to do this at my end.
Many thanks
Lynne

Thank you Johan.
Good afternoon. I am interested in Scientific analysis on my painting to see if this is a genuine John Miller. I appreciate the work you have done so far. How would I go about this?
Kind regards
Lynne
