Hi Jennica,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Kaiser Chicago Co. may have made the stand for this doll but it's a composition Madame Alexander Scarlett O'Hara doll. The company introduced its first Scarlett O'Hara doll in the late 1930s, coinciding with the film's release. These early dolls were crafted from composition materials, featuring sleep eyes, hand-painted faces, and movable limbs. They were dressed in meticulous replicas of Scarlett's iconic costumes, such as the green velvet curtain dress and the white ruffled barbecue gown.
Over the decades, Madame Alexander continued to produce various editions of Scarlett O'Hara dolls, utilizing materials like hard plastic and vinyl. These dolls were available in different sizes, including 8-inch, 10-inch, 14-inch, and 21-inch versions, each adorned in detailed outfits replicating Scarlett's attire from the film. For instance, the 14-inch composition Scarlett dolls from the 1940s are particularly sought after by collectors.
This version - in a red dress and 14" tall - currently retails at between $100-150, with fair market pricing being about $50-75.
