Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a lovely red wallet. Such vintage designer accessories are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The design of the Kate Spade wallet is classic and yet very smart and elegant. The wallet appears to be in good condition with hardly any signs of wear or use. This is a good thing when selling second hand designer items. The best prices for second hand designer items are items made by Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes etc. However this lovely wallet would too attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction. The wallet was made around the first part of the 2000s.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online designer accessories auction, where I believe the wallet has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the Kate Spade wallet. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
Thank you for your comment. The value may increase if you keep it in good condition for the next 10-20 years however I cannot guarantee that it will. It all depends on the market and the interest from potential buyers, dealers and collectors.
Kind regards
So what is your recommendation? Should I sell it now or keep it?
I cannot say if the value will increase if you choose to keep it. I think that if you don't use it and is happy about the estimate you could give it a go. However if you think that it may increase in value or you at one stage would like to use it I think you should keep it.
This is hard to give advise about as it is a fashion item and fashion tends to change rapidly and constantly.
Kind regards
What if I keep the wallet longer like 10 or 20 years will the value increase?
