18.5x 26 Ladies washing silk. Good condition.
I inherited these prints. They came from the Shanghai museum in 1924.
Dear Sky,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the apprisal.
The presented object appears to be a Japanese woodblock print in colors on paper a so-called ukiyo-e with the measurements of 26 x 18,5 cm.
This print was made by the famous Japanese artist SHUNSHO (1726-1792) or also known as Katskukawa Shinsho. This print depicts two women producing silk. They cook the cocoons of the silkworm to solve the silk thread which is wound up.
Works by this artist were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 300 to 750 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
