Hello Allan,
I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal. I deeply apologise for any inconvenience this delay on your appraisal has caused.
Based on the images, this item is:
A Hand Knotted Kerman-Persian Rug. The piece likely dates back to the period from 1950 to 1960. Usually, Kerman pieces have more vertically stretched central medallions with large scale lanterns hanging from both sides. The piece appears to be more contemporary in design than traditional. The piece is very heavily decorated with floral motifs on a central base as well as it's borders.
The piece was knotted wool on cotton. The piece's knot density appears to be very high and therefore the precision on the motifs is high, they were rendered clearly.
The piece is in fair condition with signes of use and age.
Retail prices may vary.
2900 - 3500 $
still no appraisal - too bad - I was going to use you for several paintings
Hello Allan,
My name is Lindsey Bourret and I'm the managing director of Mearto. On behalf of my team, I want to sincerely apologize for our delayed response. Unfortunately we had an issue with one of our specialists routinely assigning items to himself, then not completing the appraisals. He has been terminated and we discovered your item in an audit of his account.
I've reassigned your item to one of our other specialists, who should be getting back to you within a few days. I've also added an additional credit to your account, should you wish to give our service another try. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me directly by email at [email protected].
Again, my deepest apologies.
All the best,
Lindsey Bourret
