Kienzle Wood Mantel Clock
07 November 2022
Description

Our Kienzle Wood Mantel Clock is comprised of a smooth medium brown/red wood. It has a silver face with serif numerals, the Kienzle name directly under the 12, and 3 key ports with which to wind the clock. The clock face has a glass door which opens from right to left on a left-sided hinge. There are 4 semi-rounded feet which appear to be made of bronze. Opening the back door reveals the gearbox, pendulum, 5 hammers set to strike 5 long bars. Except for the pendulum, the entire gear set appears made of bronze. The key is included. There are no visible scratches on the exterior. The face has mild scratches around the key ports. The following is stamped on the gearbox: 81970; 12cm/19066

Provenance

I inherited this clock from my parents, who I believe received it as a gift. I recall seeing it in their home as far back as 1990, but do not know when they actually acquired it. It was not new when they acquired it.
