What does this mean?

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. Based on the photographs and description provided, the subject of this appraisal is a La Monte alto horn circa 1950s or 1960s from Holland. The horn in good used condition with what appears to be its original hard case.

According to the current owner, the piece was acquired secondhand in approximately 1970. The piece is brass. A few small dings are noted along with some finish wear. La Monte horns are not particularly sought-after among vintage instrument enthusiasts, as comparable sales records are difficult to locate. Based on observed prices on similar condition La Monte French Horns and saxophones from secondhand resellers, a Fair Market Value (pre-auction estimate) of this piece would be estimated at $200 to $300.

Thanks, any idea what age it is?

It feels like the 1950s most likely, but La Monte horns were still made into the sixties, so it's not ruled out as early sixties.
