Hi Mitch,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

Lamb Brothers & Greene was an American company based in Nappanee, Indiana, renowned for producing leaded glass lamps in the early 20th century. Established in 1909 by George L. Lamb, David Lamb, and H.B. Greene, the company capitalized on the growing demand for art glass lighting. Their products were known for their affordability and diverse designs, making art glass lamps accessible to a broad audience. Sometimes they are referred to as "Tiffany" lamps, a direct reference to the sophisticated (and much more expensive) lamps made by Louis Comfort Tiffany or Tiffany Studios in the first two decades of the 20th Century.

Lamb Bros's offerings included a wide array of styles, often featuring intricate and sometimes complex patterns. They employed skilled designers like Charles McFall, a Chicago Art Institute graduate, and Madeline Campbell, who contributed innovative designs inspired by nature. For instance, Campbell created a lamp design inspired by a robin's nest she observed outside her window. Despite their initial success, changing public tastes and the economic impact of the Great Depression led to the company's decline. In June 1931, Lamb Brothers & Greene's assets were sold, marking the end of their operations.

When Lamb Bros leaded table lamps such as yours come to auction, they most often sell for between $300 and $600. Note that this is a fair market price whereas ones listed for sale by a dealer in a shop or antiques show will most likely have a higher retail price.
