This painting was done by a french artist, around 1945/1946. All I know is that it was given as gift to my father in law who at that time was staying in France. It is signed but I cannot read the surname correctly.
Outside Frame: 35ins Width / 23ins Height Inside Picture 27 ins Width / 19 ins Height
Inherited from my father in law - he had told us that it was given to him by a french artist as he lived in France during the war.
Dear Josette,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil or acrylic paint on canvas with measurements of 19 x 27 inches. The painting depicts a landscape with trees and a river, painted in a somewhat haphazard style. It is signed with the name P. Bosdi?, which is assumed to be an alias because such paintings are typical of artworks made as decorative art in Asia in the last third of the 20th century.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided. A fair market estimation would be between 40 to 80 USD.
This estimate is based on recently recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
Dear Josette,
Thank you for your email and you are very welcome. I am sorry that you expected a higher estimate.
With kind regards,
George
Thanks a million for your help but I do not want to sell it since at that price is not even worth the shipping.
Thanks & Regards
