I am quite certain that this is the work of Joseph Hirsch; unfortunately, the date is puzzling as he died in 1981. I wonder if the date on this could have been mis-read? The date on the label is pretty clear but could that be the date the work was authenticated?
I've combed the records of listed artists with the last name Hirsch and there are no other artists by this name working in this style at that time.
