A large Colonial (Spanish, Peruvian or Mexican) Giltwood and fine Sequins (small antique mirrors) Wall Mirror. The gilt frame is carved from solid wood and features fleur-de-lis designs on the corners and rings of intricate mirrored panels around a central square mirrored raised panel.

This mirror is quite a nice example of a sort that was very popular in the Eighteenth and early Nineteenth Centuries throughout the Spanish-speaking world. When similar examples have come to auction recently, they have sold for prices ranging from about $3,000 to $5,000, with variation in provenance, condition and design.

Peruvian or Mexican, 18th Century
With elaborately pierced carved and giltwood frame with scrolls and stylized foliate motifs with an beaded outer liner and raised mirrored panel.

CONDITION: This mirror appears to be in good condition; some flaking and losses to the gilding is to be expected from handling, as are a few small losses (this does not appear to have any but if it did, if they were minor they would not devalue this.
