Hi Emily,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
There were several makers - including Paul Moerenhout, Jacques Charles for Maison Charles Paris and Jonathan Adler among others - as well as more affordable 'knockoffs' that were mass-produced and are worth considerably less, both at auction and ones sold by dealers or retailers. Without a signature, and valuing as an "unattributed" lamp, this has a fair-market value of $400-600.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A modern cast metal (bronze or bass) tree-trunk lamp with a rectangular boxy fabric shade
unattributed maker, late 20th Century
on a stepped black base.
Overall height: 33 inches tall; diameter: 17-1/2 inches
CONDITION: This lamp appears to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$ 400-600*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto.
