Mexican silver, stamped "925" and "Ortega" Measures 19.75 inches in diameter. Not sure of the weight, but it's relatively heavy. Eagle stamp.
Purchased in Mexico in 1957 by my mother.
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The item appraised is an Alfredo Ortega and Sons Mexican Silver Tray, produced in Mexico City, circa 1930-1948. It is marked with typical "Ortega" maker marks, including "925" which identifies the silver purity as 925/1000. The tray weighs approximately 75.6 troy ounces.
The tray has an inset center with a cast (assuming as unable to see verso) stylized floral border on stippled ground, which is further bordered by polished pyramidal forms. The condition of the tray appears to be good, with no discernible dents and scratching to center commensurate with age.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialized silver auction.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I'm happy to help.
