This ceramic piece has heavy gilt on a white background with red and orange. The ceramic piece measures 18 inches tall by 11 inches wide. The wood base and the "finial" are an integral part of the piece that cannot be dismantled. The measurement from base to "finial" is 28 inches tall. The piece was made in Japan.

I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this is; from the dimensions, it's a little small to be a garden seat and a little big to be a hat stand, both of which typically have pierced sides.
