Large Shell like fossil

Description
I know very little about this piece as it was gifted to me from a wealthy and educated gentleman I took care of at the end of his journey here on earth. I was never able to ask him more about it as he passed shortly after gifting to me, only thing he said was, "thats a valuable piece"
