Large Victorian brass sconces
Large brass sconces approximately 32” in length. Each weighs approximately 25lbs. Craftsmanship and hardware point toward early 20th c. origin. No signature or marks, however, estate labels attribute them to ‘Wolfson.’ I have confirmed through Wolfsonian Museum’s design curator that these are from Mitchell Wolfson’s family collection.

This is a pair of late 19th century cast brass and gilded wrought metal decorative wall mount sconces with classical acanthus leaf design. These appear to be gas lit and not electrified. They are unsigned/unmarked though show quality craftsmanship. The provenance, or history of past ownership, connects these to the Wolfson Family whom established the Wolfsonian in Miami. The estimate is for the pair together and is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables.
I will ask about that, but it may be that they were never installed in a home as the Wolfsons were collectors. It is more likely that these were bought and stored. They do not show signs of having been previously installed.
Assuming they cannot be associated with a particular home, what do you estimate their value to be? Current appraisal is at $0.
Right now, I would ask about $1200. Just want to be sure I am not dramatically underselling.
