This is a stand up dresser that is made of solid Mahogany and has a beautiful rich radish brown stain to it. It has a jewelry holder in the top drawer that can slide forward and back and removable cedar panel in the bottom drawer. The feet are round. The dresser has 6 drawers and stands 56" tall 42" wide 24" deep.there are some scuff marks in the stain and two that go to the wood but the wood is fine, other then that it's in excellent condition. This is my first time getting an appraisal so I don't know all the info I should give but the one thing I don't know for sure is what style it is like English, early 1900s, or whatever it is. I also have a matching 8 drawer long dresser but didn't know if it could go under the same appraisal. Thank you for your help!
I don't know a lot about this. I bought this in an auction and have had it ever since. I don't smoke or have pets and when I bought it to this day it smells like wood and the bottom drawer like cedar from the cedar panel so I would assume the previous owners didn't smoke or have pets either.
This is a vintage later 20th century to possibly early 21st century dresser that was sold through the fashion house label of Ralph Lauren in their home furnishings line. It is done in mahogany wood. The top drawer is referred to as a 'butler' drawer. The style is a Revival of American Empire, which had two design phases in the 19th century. Ralph Lauren is a sought after label, which helps sale-ability of dresser. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables.
